It's getting real close. I know it's been a few months since my last post, but with working full time at corp and part-time at my dream job, it's been a little trying getting everything together to put the rebranding into action. Since the last news, I have found a wonderful and talented graphic artist. Just what I needed to kick-start the project. To date we have completed the development of the new logo. Yay! Currently she is plugging away at completing the blog design. Just one step at a time. So, yes, the website will follow.

The new brand and blog is planned to launch by October 30th, with the new website closely following.(**crossing fingers**).

For those that have been following, thanks so much for keeping up with me!

Catching Up

Hi All,
Sorry, it has been a while since I posted any work or news. Sadly, after a long sickness, my Mom passed away
in June. It's been difficult and I know life will not be the same without her. As I remember how she lived
her life and the inspiration she has given me, I can only now look forward to continue my journey to grow my
passion-career in photography. During the past few months of taking care of my mom I have managed to take a
few workshops and did a few fun shoots. I plan to share some work from them soon.

You may see several interpretations of my website/blog design as the months go on as I will now go back to focus on my rebranding project. I would love to give you a photography portal that you will love to continually visit. I may be soliciting your opinions on design to help me stay on track. It's an exciting time since it will be new and fresh and targeted to those of you who are just excited about my work as I am :)

The first move will be to a new blog which is coming soon. Please come on back.. as I will be inviting you to

Raith's Tol

Tol is probably the most well known of all the Korean birthday celebrations. This celebration happens on the first birthday of a child. When Korea had very little medicinal knowledge, a lot of newborns would die because of Korea’s seasonal temperature differences and many childhood related diseases. If a child lived to be one years old during those times it was a very joyous occasion.
I was excited to do this shoot since it's the first time I have heard about a Tol. Bob and Jean, Raith's parents, were so great to work with and we had fun getting Raith to look and smile at the camera.

Gabriel - 2009

This is a repost of one of the pictures from the Delgado Family Lifestyle shoot. I love this picture since it was catching Gabriel in his fight-play mood. A karate chop to the photographer :) This was the first image I added some Photoshop magic that I ran into by accident. I love those as finding these features can be quiet a surprise.

Tina's Cotilion

Hi,
Tina turned 18! And what a way to celebrate. Adreen, Tina's mom is a super woman mom did the main coordination and design of the 100+ guest celebration for her daughter. The venue was adorned with tailored formal table settings each seat with the placards and shiny favors. It was a great pleasure to take part in the event by capturing those moments. Alex Wiles assisted me and Megan Apellanes ran the party booth while I got to run around shooting the event. We worked with videographers from VS Studios which made it more fun.

Bring in the New Year - 2010

Lot's of things to look forward to for this year. I have started networking with other photographers which proved to be inspirational. The digital SLR and digital darkroom boom has made it easier and more lucrative for professional photographers. I love that there is an emphasis on continuing learning with many opportunities to attend workshops and hands on photo shoots. Coming back to photography as a second profession so far has been fun and creatively challenging and rewarding. I plan to continue to grow my relationships with clients, models, and fellow photographers.

The first gig for this year is a debut which I am excited about. I have the wheels rolling and creative brainstorming happening :) It should turn out hot with the debutant and her eight couple cotilion. Putting together a treatment and ideas for the pre-party photo shoot.

Another excited thing I am looking forward to is building a team. It will be challenging and fun putting it together and working with the team to produce some fun sessions/events and beautiful images for our clients and models. *** crossing my fingers *** it will all come together in 2010.

Proofs- Choosing your images

I finally added a proofing gallery. It provides a means for clients to review their images and request modifications or enhancements and to purchase prints in varying sizes and other really nice products. The benefit of ordering from the proofing gallery is that it provides a means to conveniently purchase high quality images. For those that will receive the images on disk, the proofs gallery may be a time saver in that it will save a trip to a printing service provider.

the delgado's are great friends of mine who i have been wanting to photograph especially since the new baby girl arrived. they have such a beautiful house and yard. i feel like i am in a modern italian garden in their yard. since baby gianna is new to photo shoots :) we had fun trying to convince here that it's a good thing. i managed to get some fun shoots and looking forward to photographing them in the furture years.

..... we decided on possibly three areas to hold the photo shoot. after cruising down highway one enjoying the view, we quickly decided to stop at montara which was a perfect beach spot. so we walked down this rocky stairway to a stretch of private beach. found a nice inclave (for lack of a better word) to play around in. sonny was easy and fun to work with, as you will see in the pics. we then headed to the 'city' , sand to glass. here's a few to start.... teaser's they call them :)

October 3 was one of the windy-est days in SF. Here we are down at lands end trying to do a photoshoot with Malak before he left for Egypt. It's a definite reshoot when returns. In this shot, you could not tell there was sand flying around :)

it's been a few weeks since i posted. i have some images i am still editing. had one photo shoot that ended quickly since it was on that 'extremely windy' SF sunday a few weeks ago. we were down at land's end, it seemed like a sandstorm.
i am beginning to wonder if my domain is too long. i may have to change it or create another with a redirection.

... we looked for a spot in GGF that i shot at before and could not find it!! got to find that tunnel :) so we ended up @ Legion, the famed wedding photog spot. we waited about 45 mins for the bridal party to clear out. boy, that photog was clicking away left and right (hope he got some good ones too) but you can't miss at this place. danyll is such a good sport, as i did not publish (yet, maybe..) some other poses we played with. fun photo shoot!

- What locations to you service? Main area is the Bay Area. However other locations can be considered.

- Do you do dress up photo sessions, for example after wedding dress up in wedding gown and tuxedo?
Most definitely. It would be a great opportunity to capture some beautiful shots that would add to the event day memories. Another good reason to put that dress back on! :) See Dress Up Session below.

- Do you do senior portraitures?
Yes! I focus on outdoor portraitures so I think it would be a great alternative to the traditional studio senior photos.

- Do you provide black & white or sepia toned images and/or prints? Yes.

- Do you photograph pets? Yes. (I have two doggies of my own :)

- What is your usual timeframe to provide the images?
It depends on the event and time of year. Typically, you will get your proof images within 2-3 weeks of the event or photo session.

- Do you bring other photographers and an assistant? Yes. The photographers and assistant I bring depends on the assignment.

Back in Business so they say .. :) and finding it Fun to have a Blog on the Site as a means to just 'blab' and give useful information as well. The digital technology has certainly given me a big inspiration to start offering the service again. Coming from carrying around that heavy Hasselblad all day at a wedding, you could understand :) from film to digital images.. what fun! (although I am finding that I am not yet satisfied with the image quality from my SLR I use today compared to my Hasselblad.)

This time.. besides for the passion of photography , it's going to be loads of Fun and the best kick-butt images we could produce!

We? -- yes!! I know some very talented multi-dimensional - creative people in it with me... more to come about them. They can provide more creative consultation, make-up artistry, styling, maybe story boarding... all about you!
